The social roots provided for in art. 127.c)<\/a> RD 1155\/2024, contains in turn two basic assumptions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Social roots for those persons with family ties to legal residents (spouse, registered partner, ascendants or descendants in the first degree). It is important to note that siblings are not included in this list, as they would be considered second degree relatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Social roots for those people without family ties in Spain, but with an integration effort report<\/em> from the Autonomous Community. It is a figure similar to the previously called social integration report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In both cases, 100% of the IPREM must be credited. In the case of family ties, the family member is required to contribute 100% of the IPREM and another 100% for the applicant (i.e., 200% of the IPREM in total). The regulation of this type of rootedness is completed with the provisions of the INSTRUCTIONS SEM 1\/2025 on the AUTHORIZATIONS OF TEMPORARY RESIDENCE FOR ROOTING REASON. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Renewal of Social Roots<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The renewal of the arraigo social<\/strong> is not automatic, since this permit has a duration of 1 year.<\/strong> To renew it, you must change your residence to another type of authorization. Therefore, although it is usually referred to as a renewal, in reality, the permit is not renewed but modified to another type of permit<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main options are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Renewal requirements Arraigo Social<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. Residence and employment<\/strong> \u2192 If you have worked during the year, you can renew with a current contract or have worked at least 6 months<\/strong> and be actively seeking employment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Residence and self-employment<\/strong> \u2192 If you registered as self-employed, you must prove that the activity is still active and generates sufficient income.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Non-profit residency<\/strong> \u2192 If you did not work but have sufficient financial means, you can opt for this permit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    It is important not to have been outside Spain for more than 90 days in one year<\/strong> and to submit the application within the deadline before the expiration date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
